Michael (Moldova) 30th March 2008	I don't understand, HOW did you find 93 years for Moldova? The maximum sentence in Moldova is 25 years. A few cases - life sentence(I repeat - only 10-20 cases). So, HOW did you find 93 years?
peter (USA) 24th August 2008	I find it hard to believe that the average prison sentence in years is 37,488 in Romania.
randy (USA) 2nd September 2008	I see nowhere on this chart the time period. Are you sure it's years? It looks more like "days" served to me.
Peter (USA) 5th September 2008	Ian Graham Staff Editor 23rd March 2005 Do long prison sentences deter criminals or are they an indication of a severe crime problem? Colombia has the longest average prison sentence length, at 137 years. Read what the editor says, he says that the prison sentence is 137 years for columbia which is reflected in the chart. Also Canada would have an average of one day is prison.
