True, but the population of the US is armed, that's why we're safer, is Aussieland, they don't have guns, the criminals do. That's why they feel more unsafe. |

1. Dear Tylor, I'm an European. With us population is unarmed. I think that's just a little more safe than being allowed to bear arms anyway. I'd rather not feel safe walking in the streets at night knowing just any moment someone can put a gun in your face. If everyone can get a gun criminality is soaring I think.
2. I don't understand why people in europe are feeling this unsafe. Certainly not in Western Europe. If you check rape and burglarry maps western europe ain't doing that bad! |

I think it depends on where you live. If you live in a small town in the U.S., like I do, it's safe to walk around at night. In a big city, it's less safe, though there are parts of New York that are perfectly safe and parts of Paris that I'd avoid like the plague. |

To FM: You've stated your conjecture that unrestricted access to guns would cause criminality to soar. Yet, the *facts* have indeed shown quite the opposite to be true, as exemplified above with regard to New Hampshire and Vermont. But I guess that to some people, cold hard reality ain't as convincing as true belief. |

It's funny because I felt very safe walking in the dark in big cities in Sweden when I was there more so than living in a smaller city in the US. |

Take away guns, you get good citizens without guns and criminals with a monopoly on them. |

This is very interesting. In most cases I feel safe walking alone in the dark. But, I wish there were statistics for more dangerous countries...well more countries. |
